Is the blade replaceable?

Yes! Use Slice 10404 or Slice 10408 replacement blades.

Will it cut through plastic clamshell packaging?

Yes! Although a different Slice utility knife or PHC Utility Knife may work better.

This is a really handy tool, the ceramic blade was surprisingly strong and safe. The ceramic blade doesn’t stick to the tape when I open packages, which makes it automatically better than the steel thing I was using before.
This slice pen cutter is really lightweight too and about half as heavy as the metal cutter I had that I lost. This ceramic blade has outlasted any blade I’ve used before and even though I use it every hour of many days it still looks and works like it’s brand new.
One point is that maybe the the slider to open/retract the blade might be more comfortable if it was on the side of the knife. Besides that this knife great a solid 9/10.
